Bursera Graveolens, or Palo Santo, is a wild tree native to Mexico and regions of South America. Palo Santo means 'holy wood' in Spanish and is considered sacred. When lit, the rising sweet smelling smoke is believed to clear negative energies from the space with its medicinal and therapeutic healing powers.
Light the end of your palo santo stick allowing it to catch fire. Let the flame burn and then gently blow out. Continue blowing on your palo santo to keep it smoking. Burning palo santo can become part of a daily healing ritual. In the summertime, the scent is said to naturally deter mosquitos.
