The roof of each match striker is left unglazed so the clay provides a rough surface for striking the specialty match, while the interior is glazed with a smooth polished finish. Each striker bottom has a strike pad sticker on it, making it 100% functional with any type of match. These pair perfectly with a candle and make for a one of a kind gift.

Instructions

To ignite a match on the roof of the match striker, you must use a specialty match called strike anywhere matches. You can usually find these matches at Ace Hardware, Kroger, camping stores, online, and check out your local grocery store's grilling aisle.

If you want to use regular safety matches that you have laying around, there is a striker pad on the bottom of the match striker. This will ignite any type of match in a pinch.
